Death Valley 2024 registration form

31st Annual VJLA Death Valley Ride!
Saturday through Monday, April 6-8, 2024
Vintage Japanese Los Angeles motorcycle presents the 31st annual Death Valley Rally! If you’ve never been on this ride, it is a must attend event for anyone interested in riding across vast desert landscapes and visiting near-ghost towns.
We will ride from Lancaster, California to Panamint Springs Resort, CA, by scenic and sometimes unimproved back roads. Panamint Springs will be our base both Saturday and Sunday nights (https://www.panamintsprings.com/). Rooms and camping sites are available there Onsite they have a small restaurant and a gas station too (https://www.panamintsprings.com/services/dining-bar/). There is also lodging available on the other side of Towne Pass at Stovepipe Wells (https://deathvalleyhotels.com/). Riders are responsible for making their own motel or camping reservations.
As always, this trip will be open to all bikes and scooters, although the more vintage bikes the better. This is a shorter route than usual so if you’re waiting for a good time to bring something really old or slow this could be it!
We depart from Crazy Otto’s Diner in Lancaster 9:00 AM on Saturday April 6, 2024. Crazy Otto’s is located at 1228 W. Ave. I in Lancaster, east of the 14 freeway. There is safe parking for your truck in the dirt parking lot across from Antelope Valley Harley Davidson, 1759 W. Ave. J-12. After riding about 600 miles in total we will return to Crazy Otto’s Monday in time for dinner.
Route maps will be provided at Crazy Otto’s. From there we will ride north through Mojave and California City to Randsburg. After a snack break at The Vault (ice cream or beer, your choice!) we ride on to Trona, and across Panamint Valley to the Resort.
For those interested on Sunday I’ll lead a ride exploring territory west of Panamint – possibilities include Father Crowley Overlook, Darwin, the U2 Joshua tree, Dirty Sock hot springs, Keeler, and maybe for adventurous souls Cerro Gordo. Meanwhile, maybe Yaz will offer one of his famous off-road excursions on Sunday.
Monday morning we ride back to Lancaster the way we came, but making sure to stop at the Trail’s Inn diner in Trona for brunch.
A modest $50 entry fee will include route maps, our chase truck, and a souvenir t-shirt. This is a smokin’ deal for three days of fun and camaraderie!
Panamint Springs is not very big so book your room or camping spot asap!
Cheers,
Brendan

You don’t have to have a vintage Japanese motorcycle.  Last year there were a couple of Triumphs and a couple riding two up on a BMW/6.  Larry and Matt are planning on going.  I went last year for my first time I rode my 2018 Suz Vstrom 650  and it was a hoot.  Feel free to ask me any questions. You can check out the pictures from last year here.
