This is a new location suggested by club member Sam Burg. We’ll take a circular route totaling 182 miles (4 1/2 hours) to the recently opened Strauss Wind Farm Energy Project south of Lompoc on San Miguelito Rd stopping for lunch at the Hitching Post Wines tasting room right next to the Hitching post in Buellton. Meet at Blackhorse Coffee, 1065 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 at 9:00 AM for coffee talk and sign up. Kickstands up at 9:30. We’ll meet the South county folks at 10:20 at Hwy 101 and 166 taking Tepusquet Road to Foxen Canyon, Ballard Canyon arriving at the Hitching Post Wine tasting BBQ at Noon. We’ll then proceed to the Strass Wind Energy Project south of Lompoc, then return to SLO via Rt 1. This is AMA sanctioned ride #79829 free to paid up members otherwise $10.00.
